The song "U turn (Lili)" , interpreted by AaRON, is an extract from the album Artificial Animals Ridings On Neverland sold in 2007.
This song figures in the original soundtrack of the movie "Je vais bien, ne t'en fais pas" , directed by Philippe LIORET, starring Mélanie LAURENT and Kad MERAD and based on the novel of Olivier ADAM. This movie was released on September 6, 2006.
Coming back from holidays, Lili, a young woman who is 19 years old, discovers that her twin brother, Loïc, left home after a violent quarrel with his father. Lili did not hear from him and becomes anorexic. When she receives finally a letter from her brother, Lili goes to find him.
In this movie, the song "U turn" was recorded to Lili by her brother before he left home.
For his first dramatic character, Kad MEARD received the Cesar of the best second part.
This song is essentially an invitation to change way, to recover oneself.
The title "U turn" means a "half-turn" because the "U" symbolizes a 180° turning. The lyrics "it is not the wings that make the angel" mean we mustn't judge a person by his/her appearance. The lyrics "take another walk out of your fade world" is a recall to the real world whereas the lyrics "there is still a place for people like us" introduce an idea of an ideal place, a utopia where people like them could be accepted, could be happy. The lyrics "please put all the drugs out of your hand", "I will be your guide" and "we will find an answer" show that the author wants to help "Lili". The lyrics "the same blood runs in every hand" could mean that nobody is innocent.
