The typical Englishman's life
I think that the life of a Britishman is organized around his family and his job All the week, a Britishman gets up at 7:00 am, he eats a copious breakfast with eggs, porridge, and coffee or tea with a dash of milk. Then, he dresses himself up with a black suit on a white shirt and a black tie like Charlie Chaplin or with a tartan suit like Sherlock Homes. At 8:30 am, he leaves his home with his newspaper under his arm. To go to his work, he takes a double-decker. All the time of the trip, he reads his newspaper and he takes care not to be late, always without stress. At 9:00 am, he begins his work.
He stops at 12:00 am, he leaves his office with his newspaper to eat a sandwich and he takes advantage of his meal break to read it in a park.
At 1:30 pm, he gets back to work. He comes back by the double-decker. At 5:00 pm, he can read his newspaper.
At 5:30 pm, he cooks for his dinner boiled meat and vegetables with a mint sauce and as a dessert, a jelly or an apples pudding. At 6:00 pm while he watches the news he eats.
When it is cold, a cup of tea ends the meal. If it is not raining, he goes to a pub. He spends the rest of his evening with his friends and he comes back home between 9:00 pm and 1:00 am according to the quantity of beer which he has drunk.
Sunday is different because he can spend all the day long in an armchair reading a newspaper with advertisements of the week. He can also play with his children in a park when the weather is fine.

I especially liked the last but one paragraph (so true...but not so good, I would add), as well as the last one. Sooo British but it's the reason why we love them, isn't it ?
